Welcome to my biography
Classically trained in piano since the age of 3, David Blair
joined his first band at the age of 17 starting his music career.
He played countless shows around Vancouver and landed his
first break after being chosen as a finalist for CFOX’s Demo
Listen Contest which got 3 songs on the locally released
compilation album local radio play on the station and shows
opening for the likes of
Nickelback and Barstool Prophets.
Blair soon left the
rock scene behind him but not
the songwriting
and performing – his first
solo EP, “Songs
of Love and
Introspection”
gained him many
songwriting awards such as
from the Billboard
World Songwriting
Competition and
many more.
Blair showcased his
music at several World
Music Festivals and
then released his
first solo album in the
summer of 2007. Blair since
then has toured across North
America from NY to Toronto, to
La playing in Venues such as the
Viper room and the House of
Blues in Hollywood. – The album
picked up the ‘Best Contemporary
Album’ award and received runner up for
the ‘Best Adult Contemporary Male
Artist’ for the Toronto Exclusive Magazine
Awards 2008.
His newest album “Things Left Unsaid” was released in
February 2009 to rave reviews and had his first single
‘Hurts So Hard’ added on six stations across Canada
within weeks including 92.1 FM and Proud FM Toronto
while on tour.
